President's Message
(October 2025)
Dear Fellow Woodturners,
Autumn is in the air and should make for a more enjoyable meeting Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 9:00 AM. The meeting will be at our regular meeting location. I hope everyone is doing well and for some that are having medical issues, a speedy and complete recovery.
On behalf of the club, we all thank Jude Veillon for hosting the September meeting at his awesome cabinet shop. The tour of the shop was amazing. The meeting consisted of a Q&A and a wood raffle. The drawing for the winners for the AWT's membership was Gerard Zaunbrecher. The winner for the AAW's membership was Lucky Ron D'Aunoy. The winner of the "bring back" was Gerard Zaunbrecher. He will receive Chris' beautiful roll-a-ball pen. Thanks to everyone who participated. To the members that brought the delicious goodies, it was much appreciated, thanks so much for your generosity.
The demonstrator for the October 4 meeting will be Monte Richard. Monte emailed a PDF to me, showing the outline of his demo, WOW!, he went all out, wish I could be at the meeting to see him put on this presentation, thanks Monte.
The election committee, at this October meeting, will report to the membership the names of those wishing to be on the November ballot for 2026. The voting will take place at the November meeting. In order to vote you must be a member in good standing, dues paid, and you must be present at the meeting to vote (no proxy).
Due to a family wedding, I will not attend this meeting; but be assured, I'm leaving the club in good hands, our VP, Steve Nix, will be steering the ship. Hope to see everyone at the November meeting.
Cordially,
Garland J. Barras
President
